I'm dreaming of a white easter...

Oh wait, it's suppoused to be white Christmas. We woke up Easter morning to snow flurries. Does it ever end? Despite the snow ,we had a peaceful, quiet Easter. Poor Austin, the Easter Bunny knew he couldn't eat candy so he just got a toy in his basket.

Tyler had a little easter egg hunt this morning at church. Mike had the day off, so I got to take Tyler without Austin. It was a fun time for all, and Tyler has already eaten all of the candy.

Tyler with the NOT naughty Easter Bunny

A few months ago Tyler awoke his parents several times with the same nightmare, a disappearing, naughty Easter bunny was hiding in his closet. I guess the bunny that came to visit his gymnastics class wasn't that same Easter bunny. Tyler wasn't scared of this one at all.

Mr. Sicky Pants

Poor Austin had the croup. It was midnight and I was recovering from the stomach flu, when I heard Austin gasping for air. My poor husband stayed up with Austin until 3:00 when he got scared enough to take Austin to the ER. We thought it was another attack of RSV, but it was croup. The nurse gave him this magic steroid shot; observed Austin for a couple of hours, and Mike and Austin returned home at 7:30 in the morning. We had a grouchy kid on Sunday, but today he seems all better! We swear that Peoria is infested with germs comparable to a dirty outhouse.

A Warmish Day

All Austin wants to do is play outside. Too bad it's usually too cold to step foot outdoors. Yesterday was bearable, so outside we went. Austin can't walk on the grass yet. He is confused by it. He just ends up whining. Poor kid, he doesn't know that grass is for playing on.

Brothers in a jeep

Austin is always trying to get into Tyler's jeep. Today Mike strapped him in and let Tyler take him for a spin. It was all good at first, then Tyler hit the curb and bumped his nose. Tyler starts screaming; Austin starts screaming. Tyler is too crazy of a driver for Austin.
Here's Austin after being released from the jeep

A Spring Concert

Doesn't every boy look cute in a tie? That's what I thought. Tyler had a Spring Concert for pre-school yesterday, and he's been coveting a tie like his friend Aiden for some time now. So we went to the mall yesterday to pick up his cool new tie. Right before the concert we had Daddy tie the tie, and Tyler looked so darn cute. Tyler liked his tie so much that he didn't even want to sing during the concert. He just flipped his tie over his shoulder and posed for the video camera

I hate play-dough

I hate play-dough, oh and bubbles too. These make my house a mess, and with it for sale, I especially hate these toys. I try not to be THAT mom, but often I shy away from mess making toys unless we can go outside. However, we live in Illinois right now, and can NEVER go outside. SO, you gotta let the kids make a playdoughy mess sometimes.

My name is Tyler, and I cheat at Candyland

When I play Candyland with Tyler he always has to set up. He stacks the cards, then insists on going first. He always draws an orange first to go across the rainbow bridge. Then, he gets a candy character. I'm sure he would die of heart failure if anyone else actually won a game around here. This is exactly how Mike plays games, so we can't exactly fault Tyler.

Here Comes the Sun

And I say, it's all right!

Um, that is until today when it went back to freezing. Yesterday the kids got to play outside for the first time since Fall. Austin had never walked outside until yesterday. He LOVED it. He really liked splashing in all the puddles. The neighbor kids were out and Tyler finally had an outlet for his boundless energy. I'm so depressed that it went back to miserable weather today...

I came upstairs to find Tyler and Austin, both with multiple screwdrivers in hand, trying to unscrew the battery compartment on a toy backhoe. Tyler had climbed into Mike's toolbox and grabbed about 10 screwdrivers trying to find a fit. Austin was happy to help his brother create a mess!
