How to make 4 kids happy all at once...

The day I babysat the neighbors two youngest kids last week we had popsicles more than once. It was the only time it was quiet!

Girly Man

This morning we were at Sea World waiting to park when Austin choked on some air and threw up. He was not sick, he just gags on microscopic food particules and then empties out his stomach. It happens all the time! I realized I had no change of clothes in the car. Luckily, my cousin Laura was also pulling into the parking lot right behind me. She did have a change of clothes, but they belonged to her little girl Peyton. It was girl clothes or go home. I did buy a t-shirt to cover up the top. This picture was taken at home with the t-shirt off. Just so you can get an idea of how pretty Austin looked. He is loading a NERF gun with his girl clothes on- does that help?

ABC's of Sheri

My long- lost friend Trish tagged me and I've never done one of these. I thought it was time for my 3 loyal readers to have a tag- so here it is.

A. Attached or single? Attached, a lot of times I'm also attached to a clingy 20 month old named Austin.

B. Best friend? I have some each place/stage I've been in my life. I'm missing the best friends I just left in Peoria like crazy. I don't have any close friends in San Diego yet.

C. Cake or pie? cake,mmmmmm

D. Day of Choice? Saturday, love it when Mike is home to help with the kiddos.

E. Essential Item? Dr. Pepper or diet Dr. Pepper (depends on how much I weigh, right now it should be diet)

F. Favorite color? on my hair- golden brown (least fave- goth chick black)

G. Gummy bears or worms? Cinnamon Gummy Bears. Like Trish

H. Hometown? Prescott, AZ.

I. Favorite indulgence? So hard to pick one. Cheese fondue if I have to pick just one.

J. January or July? No contest, July. I love Summer with all my heart. If you picked January, you have never lived in Peoria, Illinois.

K. Kids? Two wild boys. I'd like one more. Please pray that I wind up with a girl.

L. Life isn't complete without? Target, oh and my family of course, who else would I shop for at Target?

M. Marriage Date? September 25, 1999. Mesa, AZ

N. Number of brothers and sisters? 1 sister, 2 brothers

O. Oranges or apples? non-pasturized fresh squeezed OJ

P. Phobias? Tornadoes and dust devils

Q. Quotes? "You get what you get and you don't throw a fit" -Mrs. Harrington
(Tyler's pre-school teacher) This one has served us well.

R. Reasons to smile? I now live where I always wanted to live- by the beach!

S. Season of choice? Anytime it is warm. Spring, summer or Fall. Don't like the cold. My theory is I can thrive where a palm tree can.

T. Tag 5 people: I tag whoever reads this and wants to respond. I hate putting pressure on people.

U. Unknown fact about me? I have to sleep with ear plugs every night.

V. Vampires or Werewolves? Want to know something? Promise not to get mad? I didn't like those Stephanie Meyers Vampire books that everyone raves about. I know- gasp! I'm not into werewolves either. How about wizards? I LOVE Harry Potter.

W. Worst habit? Forgetting to charge my cell phone. Mike almost always ends up charging it.

X. X-ray or ultrasound? Ultrasound.

Y. Your favorite food? Mexican, how I've missed those greasy taquitos and guac.

Z. Zodiac sign? Gemini

BIG trouble

Tyler got in trouble for yelling at me. I sent him to my room (his room is too close to Austin's room, and Austin was sleeping). Usually, after a minute or so he starts yelling down the stairs, "Mom, can I come out yet?" It was unexpectedly quiet up there. After about 20 minutes I went to check on him and found this. Maybe he should get in "trouble" every day around 1:00. That would be heaven!

The whole fandamily

We went to a family reunion in Utah last week. Our first stop was Vegas. After a LONG trip to Vegas (we had to wait an hour and a half for an accident in front of us), we made it. We figured Tyler would love to eat at the Mandalay Bay buffet. We were right, and he chose a plate FULL of meat. There was salmon, steak, prime rib, teriyaki chicken and a little bit of mashed potatoes to not make it completely Atkins friendly. Our little carnivore was so excited to eat his meat that he accidently started eating his finger too. He let out a huge scream for everyone in the casino to hear. After he chomped on his finger, he was done with meat. He settled on ice cream for dessert. We thought it was funny. What kid doesn't love an all you can eat buffet?

The next morning we left for Zions Nat. Park. We stopped at my all time fave- Cafe Rio in St. George. There are no pictures to be taken in Cafe Rio; I am serious. They are carfeully guarding their secret and delicious recipes. After St. George we made it to the Zion Ponderosa Ranch where Mike's entire family was. We had a good couple of days catching up, along with a short hike and some pool time. We only wish we could have stayed longer. Although it was so nice to return home to our own beds!

I thought Tyler's socks were so funny here. They were on backwards and one was up, the other down- what a 5 year old!
Our "big" hike
EVERYBODY in Mike's immediate family. For some reason I look like a giant!

I just noticed I talked about food a lot. maybe that is why I look giant...

New Park

I took the kids to a cool new park by our house. Tyler loved climbing the rock walls like the big boys.
Here he is at the top, striking his most manly pose.

Austin ran back and forth across the bridge for most of the time.
Tyler and Austin had fun running down the huge grassy hill together.
Can you see the brown hill behind the grass? That is where one of the fires came to last year. I guess a couple of people in our subdivision lost yards, but no houses were burned. It's actually amazing how many homes were saved.

Isn't this chair a beauty? Mike didn't think so. Neither did my mom. She asked if the former owners had left it, meaning, "I bet you'll have to take that to the dump." What neither realized is that I bought a treasure. I got 2 chairs, a side table and a loveseat, all teak, from Smith and Hawkens at a graage sale for 40 dollars. They may not look pretty now, but when I'm done restoring I will post the after.

All teeth and boogers

this one is. Every shirt I wear is covered in 5 seconds flat. And check out those teeth, huge I tell you! He's still a cudler/cling-on. Loves to eat popcorn, cotton candy, just the marshmellows from the lucky charms and chicken broccolli casserole. He's a jealous one too. Yesterday he wanted out of his stroller at Sea World. Tyler went and sat down, and Austin pushed him out. Not because he wanted back in, but how dare anyone sit in HIS stroller? Isn't he cute?

And this one, he's a beach bum. He absolutely loves the beach (his words). He talks about Star Wars, pokemon and sand crabs non-stop! He loves collecting rocks. Oh, and tattling; he loves to tattle. Enjoys eating teriyaki chicken and chicken wings (he is his father's son). He finally learned to pump himself on the swings, just in time for kindergarden.

These two, love each other sometimes. This incident today sums up their relationship: Tyler was helping Austin get the sand out of his eyes, with a bar of soap. Austin starts screaming because there is soap in his eyes ,and then somehow Tyler gets it in his eyes too. Now both are screaming. It all started out with good intentions.
